‘Social Media Misuse’: Action initiated against nine persons across Kashmir, says police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Police said that it has initiated action against nine persons across Kashmir region for misusing Social Media.

Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “The action has been initiated against nine persons in various districts of Kashmir region for uploading and sharing hateful content and misusing Social Media platforms to spread rumours.”

“The action has been taken against nine persons who have been identified as Salman Mushtaq Kuttay, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Kuttay, resident of Check Wangund Dooru, Rameez Ashraf Hadi, son of Mohd Ashraf Hadi, resident of Watnad Kokernag, Umer Farooq Ganie (Ghazi Sir), son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie, resident of Ratherpora Khairbugh Srigufwara in Anantnag district, Waseem Mushtaq Malik, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, resident of Safapora, Aadil Ahmed Rather, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, resident of Nunner in Ganderbal district, Bilal Ahmad Wani, son of Ali Mohd Wani, resident of Wani Mohalla Baliharan Pattan in Baramulla district and Sheeraz Ahmed Beigh, son of Abdul Majeed Beigh, resident of Beighpora Awantipora in Pulwama district,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police and District Magistrates across Union Territory had warned general public to keep away from uploading and sharing hateful content and misusing Social Media platforms for spreading rumours. — (KIMS)
