Srinagar shivers at minus 1.2°C; dry, cold weather to continue till Nov end: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday forecast dry and cold weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till the end of this month.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “Currently, the weather is mainly clear to partly cloudy at most places of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir from November 21st to 22nd.” “Similar weather conditions will prevail in the Union Territory from November 24th to 26th,” he said.

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light rain or snowfall at isolated higher reaches of the Union Territory on November 23rd.” “Similar weather conditions will prevail in the Union Territory from November 27th to 30th,” he said.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 1.2°C, Anantnag minus 0.6°C, Qazigund and Kupwara each minus 0.8°C, Kokernag minus 0.2°C, Pahalgam minus 2.9°C and Gulmarg minus 0.6°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Tuesday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 11.2°C, Katra 11.0°C, Batote 6.2°C, Bhaderwah 3.5°C, Banihal 2.8°C, Udhampur 8.6°C and Patnitop 6.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 6.0°C and Kargil minus 4.5°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
