Famous tourist resorts Pahalgam and Gulmarg also recorded season’s coldest night
SRINAGAR — Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 5.8 degrees celsius.
“With minus 5.8 as the minimum temperature today, Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season so far. Cold, dry weather with mainly clear sky is expected in J&K and Ladakh during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.
He said that Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season at 5.8 degrees celsius while as famous tourist resorts Pahalgam and Gulmarg also recorded coldest night of the season at minus 7.0 degrees celsius and minus 5.6 degrees celsius.
In Jammu region, he said Jammu recorded 4.1 degrees celsius, Katra 5.8 degrees celsius and Batote 0.6 degrees celsius while as Banihal and Baderwah recorded minus 0.3 degrees celsius and minus 1.0 degrees celsius as the minimum temperature.
In Ladakh region, he said Kargil recorded minus 12.4 degrees celsius and Leh recorded minus 14.5 degrees celsius as the minimum temperature.
