Student injured after being shot in Anantnag, hospitalized

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Suspected militants on Wednesday evening fired upon and injured a youth in Wanihama area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir.

Reports said, a youth namely Sahil Bashir Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wanihama Anantnag, who is a student of Class 10th was fired upon and injured by suspected militants at Wanihama.

Sahil was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment where from doctors referred him to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment, they said.

Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off entire area to nab the attackers.

Kashmir Zone Police in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said, “Militants fired upon one person namely Sahil Bashir Dar son of Bashir Ah Dar resident of Wanihama in Anantnag district. The injured person is being shifted to hospital for treatment. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow.” — (KIMS)
