SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday said it trapped and arrested a clerk of the Tehsil Office Central, Shalteng, Srinagar, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.

The ACB said it received a written complaint alleging that the complainant had been detained under preventive action under Section 126/170 of the BNSS on the orders of the 1st Class Executive Magistrate, Tehsil Office Central, Shalteng, Srinagar.

According to the complaint, the accused clerk, identified as Laiq Ahmad Nath, a resident of Qamarwari, Srinagar, deputed in the said office, demanded illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 for erasing the complainant’s detention record from official registers.
