Theft case solved in Pulwama, accused arrested: Police

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property in Pulwama.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on 07-12-2022, Police Station Litter received a written complaint from one person namely Abid Hassan Khan son of Mohd Ahsan Khan resident of Gund Achan stating therein that his bike bearing registration number JK13C-5721 has been stolen by some unknown person/persons from Sidco Lassipora.

Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 115/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Litter and investigation was initiated.

“During the course of investigation, many suspects were called for questioning in which one person identified as Waseem Ah Rather son of Ab Salam Rather resident of Tahab Bonegam confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, officers investigating the case also recovered the stolen bike. Subsequently, he has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody,” police said.

Meanwhile, people appreciated the efforts made by the Police for solving the case. “Our efforts should assure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities,” police said. — (KNO)
