SRINAGAR — Three notorious drug peddlers were arrested during naka checking at Barthana and Noorbagh area in Srinagar, police said on Friday.
Police in a statement said, during naka checking at Barthana, two notorious drug peddlers namely Bilal Dar and Shabir Dar, both sons of Ghulam Mohiddin Dar of Barthana were arrested with approx. 30kgs of poppy straw (bhuki).
The statement said that FIR No 266/22 u/s 8,15 of NDPS Act has been registered at Parimpora Police Station and vehicle used by them was also seized.
In a separate incident, one notorious drug peddler namely Amir Ashraf Bolaki @ Mataan, S/o Mohd Ashraf Bolaki, R/o Nawakadal was arrested during naka checking at Noorbagh cement bridge.
On his personal search 07 grams of heroine was recovered, the statement said adding FIR No. 244/2022 U/S 8/21 of NDPS act has been registered at Safakadal Police Station, the statement said. — (KIMS)
