Three poachers arrested, three single bore guns recovered in Budgam

SRINAGAR — Three poachers were arrested while three single bore guns were recovered in Narkarah wetland area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday.

Official sources said that on acting on the complaint lodged by Range officer Wildlife control room Srinagar about the specific information that three persons were poaching migratory birds at nambal Narkarah (Wetland), police party Humhama rushed the spot and arrest the three persons and seized 03 numbers of single Bore guns with mutilated numbers, 05 live Cartridges, 01 Empty cartridge and one mobile Samsung on spot .

They identified the three persons as Ali Mohammad Najar son of Mohammad Akbar Najar, Umar Majeed Bhat son of Ab Majeed Bhat and Ishfaq Majeed Bhat son of Ab Majeed Bhat, all residents of Nadir Gund Humhama.

A police official confirmed the incident to KDC and said a case under Fir no 65/2022 under section 428/IPC, 51 wild life act 3/25 was registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been taken up. — (KDC)
