SRINAGAR — A court in Srinagar has sentenced three persons to life imprisonment in a murder case registered at Batamaloo Police Station in 2022, police said on Saturday.
The convicts have been identified as Hafeeza Begum, Parveez Ahmad Dar alias Bilal, and Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar.
According to police, the case was registered under FIR No. 109/2022 under Sections 498-A, 302, 120-B and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
After the conclusion of the trial, the court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Srinagar, convicted all three accused under Sections 302 (murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and subsequently awarded them life imprisonment.
Srinagar Police said the conviction followed a professional investigation and sustained efforts to pursue the case through the judicial process. — (KIMS)
