Three soldiers killed, three injured in on-going Rajouri anti-militancy operation

JAMMU (KIMS) — At least three soldiers were killed and three others were injured during an anti-militancy operation in Rajouri district of Jammu region.

The encounter broke out between joint team of security forces and militants at Dera Ki Gali (DKG) are of Rajouri district on Thursday evening.

Earlier, a joint team of security forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Dera Ki Gali (DKG) area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district on Wednesday evening following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Officials said, “Today, at around 3:45 pm, two army vehicles carrying troops were moving to the operational site, which were fired upon by the militant. The fire was immediately retaliated upon by the troops.”

They said, “Three soldiers lost their lives and three others were injured who have been evacuated to the hospital for treatment.”

“The operation is in progress,” they said.

Notably, 10 soldiers lost their lives in two different anti-militancy operations in Rajouri this year. — (KIMS)
