Srinagar-Jammu National Highway still blocked for vehicular movement
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The traffic movement of Mughal Road and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road after the clearance of debris from the roads.
Both the roads were blocked for vehicular movement due to landslides caused by heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday.
Meanwhile, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway is still closed for vehicular movement. The highway was closed due to landslide, mudslide and shooting stones in various stretches at Ramban.
Besides landslides, mudslides and shooting stones, the road connecting T3 and T5 (which bypasses Panthyal tunnel) gets washed off due to heavy rainfall in the area.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Mohita Sharma said, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway is closed due to landslide and shooting stones in various stretches at Ramban.
Restoration work to clear the highway for vehicular movement going on, she said. People should ask Traffic Control Unit (TCU) before making travel plans, she said. — (KIMS)
