Two local Al-Badr militants slain in Khonmoh anti-militancy operation

SRINAGAR – Two local militants from Al-Badr outfit were slain in an anti-militancy operation in Khonmoh area of Srinagar outskirts on Monday.

Reports said the anti-militancy operation was launched by the joint team of government forces including Indian Army’s 50 RR, CRPF and J&K Police in Khonmoh area on Monday morning following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

In the operation two local militants from Al-Badr militant out were slain and they have been identified as Wasim Bashir Pandit son of Bashir Ahmad Pandit from Kakapora and Mudasir Ahmad Khanday son of Farooq Ahmad Khanday from Bargam Awantipora.

Arms, ammunition and other incriminating material were recovered from the site of operation, police said.

The last rites of the slain militants shall be performed after conducting medico-legal formalities and the nearest family members shall be allowed to participate in the last rites, they added.

Meanwhile authorities have snapped mobile internet service in Pulwama district as a precautionary measure.
