Two minor sisters rescued in Baramulla, kidnapper arrested: Police

BARAMULLA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that they rescued two minor sisters in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and arrested two persons involved in their kidnapping.

Police in a statement said, On May 1st, 2023, Abdul Rehman Beigh S/o Abdul Rahim Beigh approached Police Station Sheeri and lodged a complaint alleging that his two daughters (identity withheld) aged 14 and 15 years, were kidnapped by Mohd Aqib Dar and Rayees Ahmad Lone, both residents of Pehliharan.

On this information, Police Station Sheeri registered a case under FIR No. 38/2023 u/s 363, 376, 506 IPC, the statement said, adding that the police acting promptly arrested both the accused and rescued the minor girls.

The statement said, the victims were safely handed over to their legal heirs after completing all necessary legal formalities, and the accused are currently in police custody, the statement said. — (KIMS)
