Two Punjab residents killed in Srinagar attack

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Two persons from Punjab were killed in a militant attack in Shaheed Gunj area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening.

Reports said, two persons were critically injured after they were fired upon by suspected militants at Shaheed Gunj area of the city on Wednesday evening.

Soon after the incident, they were evacuated to SHMS Hospital for treatment. However, a person namely Amrit Pal Singh, a resident of Amritsar Punjab succumbed to his injuries, they said.

Another person namely Rohit Mashi, who is also a Punjab resident was undergoing treatment. However, he breathed his last on Thursday morning, the added.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off entire area to nab the attackers.

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, political and social figures have condemned the killings. — (KIMS)
