Weather to improve from today afternoon: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The weather will improve in Jammu and Kashmir from today afternoon, the Meteorological Department said on Friday.

It said, widespread rain is expected in the Kashmir Valley and at isolated places in Jammu division for the next 24 hours.

The rain lashed plains while, higher reaches of Kashmir valley including famous tourist destination Gulmarg received light snowfall during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius and Pahalgam 4.2 degrees Celsius while Gulmarg recorded minus 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

Jammu recorded 19.4 degrees Celsius, Katra 16.8 degrees Celsius, Batote 10.4 degrees Celsius, Banihal 8.3 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 7.8 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kargil recorded 4.6 degrees Celsius while Leh recorded minus 2.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature in Ladakh region. — (KIMS)
