Widespread intermittent light to moderate rain in J&K for two days: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast widespread intermittent light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir for next two days.

Rain lashed Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

“Fairly widespread to widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few palces in Jammu and Kashmir on May 25-26, 2023,“ an official of the Meteorological Department said.

“Intermittent light rain, thunder and lightning is expected at few palces in Jammu and Kashmir from May 27-28, 2023,“ he said.

He said, “From May 29-30, 2023, fairly widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few palces in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He also advised farmers to suspend all farm operations during 25th and 26th May, 2023.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 10.8°C, Qazigund 8.0°C, Anantnag 7.0°C, Kupwara 11.4°C, Kokernag 7.4°C, Gulmarg 5.0°C and Pahalgam 6.1°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 21.4°C, Katra 18.6°C, Batote 10.2°C, Bhaderwah 9.9°C, Banihal 8.7°C, Udhampur 17.7°C and Patnitop 10.2°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 2.6°C and Kargil 7.4°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
