SRINAGAR — Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.
According to the woman’s complaint, she, along with a male friend, had gone for an outing to Jalsheeri Drangbal in Baramulla on July 25 when the two accused accosted them.
A police official said the accused sexually assaulted the girl and also recorded a video of the assault.
The officer said the survivor knew the accused only by their first names.
However, using technical evidence and human intelligence, police identified the suspects — Shakir Ahmed Lone and Mohammed Ashraf, both residents of Jalsheeri and working as drivers — and arrested them on Monday. — (PTI)
