World Press Freedom Day 2023: AAJ organises Debate on “Responsibility, Challenges & Freedom of Press

ANANTNAG (KIMS) — On World Press Freedom day, Association Of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) in collaboration with Department of Mass communication & Multimedia Production, GDC boys Anantnag Organised a debate titled “Responsibility, Challenges & Freedom of press”.

On the occasion, Journalists and students of Department of Mass communication and multimedia production GDC boys Anantnag took part in the debate and discussed various aspects of media viz a viz to responsibilities, challenges & Freedom of Press. Students got first hand information about the actual situation in the field of Journalism and challenges ahead.

Chief Guest of the function, Principal GDC Boys Anantnag Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat on the occasion said that being the fourth pillar if Democracy, Media has greater responsibility to work like a bridge between the society and government.

He added that Department of Mass communication & Multimedia Production GDC boys Anantnag will provide all possible support and coordination for betterment of the Journalism.

While praising the efforts of Association of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) he thanked and congratulated the Association for collaborating with the Collage for organizing the program.

Guest of Honour on the occasion, fiction writer and Dramatic, Raja Yousuf while sharing his experience said that Journalism has evolved tremendously viz a viz to its reach effects and role in social transformation during last few decades.

He congratulated Association of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) conducting such a successful program on World Press Freedom Day.

President Association of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) Gulzar Ahmad Ganie on the occasion while thanking all the stakeholders including the Collage authorities, guests, students and members of Association of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) said that the Association will always work in close coordination with Administration, Education institutions and other stakeholders for the betterment of the society and will uphold the highest values Journalism.

Vice president Association of Anantnag Journalists (AAJ) Javaid Sagar conducted the proceedings of the program while as General Secretary AAJ Ishtiaq Sofi said that this is for the first time in the history of Anantnag that a debate was organized on the day of World Press Freedom Day.
