Jammu: In its first programme in Jammu, YASHODA AI—the flagship digital literacy initiative of the National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with Future Shift Labs—conducted a special workshop at Central University, Jammu. The event educated students on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), while raising awareness about cyber safety, digital rights, and ethical use of technology.
Through interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and hands-on training with tools like ChatGPT, Cyber Dost, and the NCW Women Safety App, students explored AI’s impact on education, careers, and society, along with the risks of misinformation and online abuse. NCW Chairperson Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar emphasized that responsible AI use is key to nurturing a socially aware and digitally empowered generation.
The workshop also addressed practical challenges students may face in the digital world, including online harassment, data privacy, and the responsible use of emerging AI tools. By equipping students with both knowledge and skills, the programme aimed to build a generation capable of leveraging technology for social good.
Mr. Nitin Narang, Director of Future Shift Labs, highlighted that YASHODA AI is not just a training programme but a national mission to integrate AI literacy with ethical awareness. “By preparing students to navigate the digital ecosystem safely, we are fostering future leaders who can drive inclusive and responsible technological innovation,” he said.
