AWANTIPORA — Police recovered approximately 18.236 kg of charas powder-like substance and arrested a man during a search operation in Awanpora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Mohd Yousuf Wani, a resident of Awanpora, was apprehended following a search conducted by Awantipora Police based on reliable information regarding illegal possession of narcotic substances.
A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora under FIR No. 236/2026, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered substance and establish possible linkages. — (KIMS)
