Pulwama: A food safety officer in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was Wednesday placed under suspension by deputy commissioner for unauthorisedly remaining absent from his duty
An official told the news agency KNO that in view of dereliction of duties and unauthorized absence from headquarter, Food Safety Officer, Pulwama Inderjit Singh has been placed under suspension by DC Pulwama.
“In view of inclement weather and to ensure prompt disaster mitigation measures the district administration had already issued orders under sec 34 of Disaster Management Act directing all officers to remain present in their respective jurisdictions,” the official said.
It is pertinent to mention that Divisional Administration Kashmir has also directed that Tehsildars, SHOs, TSOs, FSOs, officials of legal metrology shall regularly conduct market checking during this period so that any kind of hoarding and overcharging of essential commodities and items of daily needs is prevented.
Th official said that the said FSO was found absconding from the district and has been accordingly placed under suspension and attached with Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office Pulwama.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate has instructed all magistrates of the district to immediately seal any such office dealing with essential services which is found non-functional and staff found absconding during this period of extreme weather condition. (KNO)
