JAMMU (KIMS) — As part of the comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, the Special Operations Group (SOG), Jammu, in collaboration with the National Security Guard (NSG), conducted a joint counter-terror mock drill at Raghunath Temple.
The exercise simulated a high-risk terrorist contingency involving rapid response, area domination, intervention tactics, hostage rescue, casualty evacuation, and inter-agency coordination.
The primary objective was to validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhance operational synergy, and ensure a swift, coordinated response to any security contingency.
This drill forms the part of a series of joint preparedness exercises that will be conducted at vital installations and other vulnerable locations across Jammu.
The objective is to assess operational readiness, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and reinforce the security framework at locations that require a high level of preparedness against potential threats.
The exercise witnessed seamless coordination between SOG Jammu, NSG, and other security stakeholders, reflecting a high level of professionalism, interoperability, and operational readiness.
Jammu Police remains fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims, residents, and visitors.
Such realistic mock drills will continue to be conducted regularly to further enhance preparedness and maintain a robust security posture during the Amarnath Yatra and beyond. — (KIMS)
