Case registered against LeT, TRF handlers for issuing threats to journalists in Kashmir: Police

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday said that it has registered a case against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) handlers and its offshoot TRF for issuing threats to journalist and reporters based in Kashmir.

According to Srinagar Police, a case has been registered against handlers, active militants and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militant outfit LeT and its offshoot TRF for online publication and dissemination of a direct threat letter to journalists and reporters based in Kashmir.

The case has been registered under FIR No. 82/2022 U/S 13 UAPA, 505, 153B, 124A & 506 IPC in Shergari Police Station, police said.

Srinagar Police in a tweet said, “Case registered against handlers, active militants & OGWs of militant outfit LeT & its offshoot TRF for online publication & dissemination of a direct threat letter to Journalists & reporters based in Kashmir. FIR No. 82/2022 U/S 13 UAPA, 505, 153B, 124A & 506 IPC in Shergari PS.” — (KIMS)
