Donation boxes of ‘salesmen’ removed from shrines: Darakshan Andrabi

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson, Darakshan Andrabi on Saturday said that donation boxes of “salesmen” have been removed from shrines and some people are trying to play politics over it.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Andrabi said that the order issued about unethical practices at shrines cannot be revoked and some people are trying to play politics over the issue.

Terming Mujavirs at shrines as salesmen, she also said that their donation boxes have been removed, which paved the way for devotees to visit these shrines without facing any harrasment.

“The orders cannot be revoked and will be implemented in letter and spirit. The devotees have heaved a sigh of relief after the order was implemented,” she said. — (KNO)
