Dry weather to continue in J&K, says MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory yesterday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, weather would remain dry in Jammu division with chances of light rain/snow at isolated places in the Valley during next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded 0.4 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 2.9 degrees Celsius and minus 7.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 7.5 degrees Celsius, Katra 8.1 degrees Celsius, Batote 4.1 degrees Celsius and Banihal 1.4 degrees Celsius while Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 15.6 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 11.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
