GM Kantro demands Dialysis Centre, Blood Bank, and Trauma Centre at SDH Tral

TRAL (KIMS) — Senior leader of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), GM Kantro, widely known as Bin Kantro, today issued a fervent appeal for the urgent upgrading of the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral.

Addressing the media, Mr. Kantro stressed the critical need for the establishment of specialized facilities, including a dialysis centre, trauma centre, and blood bank, at SDH Tral.

He underscored the growing number of patients suffering from conditions that require these services, which are currently unavailable in the area, forcing locals to undertake long and often difficult journeys to Srinagar or other distant hospitals in the valley.

Mr. Kantro expressed deep concern over the state of healthcare in the region, pointing out that, despite its long history, SDH Tral remains poorly equipped to meet the needs of the community.

“The hospital, which was established decades ago, still lacks fundamental facilities like MRI services and a fully functional blood bank,” he remarked.

“This is causing immense hardship for the people of Tral and the surrounding villages, who have to struggle to access even the most basic medical services.”

In addition to SDH Tral, Mr. Kantro highlighted the dire conditions of other healthcare centres in the area, including hospitals in Dadsoora, Aripal, and Batagund.

He noted that these hospitals are also plagued by a severe lack of basic facilities and are understaffed with both medical and paramedical personnel.

“The healthcare infrastructure in our region is in desperate need of attention and improvement,” Mr. Kantro stated, urging the authorities to take immediate action to address these pressing issues.

He further called on the government to not only upgrade the existing facilities but also to ensure that the healthcare system is prepared to meet the growing demands of the population.

“It’s not just about upgrading buildings or adding equipment, we need a comprehensive approach that includes adequate staffing, proper training, and the availability of essential services to truly serve the people of Tral and its neighboring areas,” Mr. Kantro concluded. — (KIMS)
