Govt lecturer ‘caught’ imparting tuition in Bandipora

SRINAGAR — A Government lecturer was caught red handed while imparting tuition as the Bandipora administration on Friday raided some Coaching-cum-Tuition Centres in the town.

Sources said a senior Physics lecturer identified as Nayeem Ahmad Parrey of Government Girls Higher Secondary Cchool Bandipora was caught red-handed when a special team led by two principals raided the private institutions.

There are multiple complaints in the office of Director School Education Kashmir and CEO Office Bandipora against this lecturer, but no action has been taken so far.

The raids were conducted following numerous complaints that the Government teachers/lecturers were providing their service in the private tuition centres despite a ban on the same by the government.

The owners of more than a dozen coaching centres in Bandipora have compiled a list of teachers and lecturers who are indulging in private coaching despite the ban and have sought action against them.

The owners said they have time and again urged the district administration to ensure no government teacher or lecturer indulges in coaching, but the administration have restricted themselves to paper work by issuing circulars only.

Despite repeated attempts, Chief Education Officer Bandipora couldn’t be contacted for his comments. — (KDC)
