Gulmarg, Pahalgam record coldest night; mainly cloudy sky in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — As the famous tourist destinations in Kashmir valley recorded coldest night of the season, the Meteorological Department office on Monday forecast generally cloudy weather in Kashmir valley while mainly clear sky in Jammu division during the next 24 hours.

The weather was dry and cold during the last 24 hours in the Union Territory.

“Generally cloudy weather is likely in the Valley and mainly clear in the Jammu division during the next 24 hours”, IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.

He said Srinagar recorded minus 1.9 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while famous tourist destinations Gulmarg and Pahalgam recorded coldest night of the season at minus 12.0 degrees Celsius and minus 10.2 degrees Celsius.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 4.1 degrees Celsius and Katra recorded 4.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while Batote, Banihal and Bhaderwah recorded minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, minus 1.5 degrees Celsius and minus 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said Kargil recorded minus 21.2 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 14 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
