SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
Jammu and Kashmir Police in a statement said, “On 10 Oct 2023, on a specific input of militant movement in Ushkara area, a joint Naka was established at Ushkara by Baramulla Police, Army 46 RR, MI and 53 Bn CRPF. During naka checking suspicious movement of one person coming towards naka point by foot was observed. While seeing police party and security forces, the suspect person tried to flee from the spot but alert naka party apprehended him tactfully.”
“During preliminary questioning, he was identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Hamid Bhat, a resident of Ushkara Baramulla,” the statement said.
“During his search 2 hand grenades and cash amounting to Rs. 40K was recovered from his possession,” the statement said.
In this regard, a case under sections UA (P) & Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up, the statement said. — (KIMS)
