LG Sinha meets families of Srinagar boat tragedy victims

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday visited Gandbal area of Srinagar and met with the family members of victims who lost their lives in the heart breaking boat tragedy on April 16.

He also met with the families whose kin are still missing.

Sinha also expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved families and assured all help and support to them. “The Union Territory Administration stands shoulder to shoulder with the families in this hour of grief,” he said.

On Tuesday (April 16), a boat with 20 people on board capsized in river Jhelum in Gandbal area of Batwara Srinagar, resulting in death to six persons and leaving three others missing.

The search operation by several teams including State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to trace out missing bodies of three persons in still in progress. — (KIMS)
