Light rain, snow likely in Kashmir, cloudy sky in Jammu: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department office on Thursday forecast light rain and snow in Kashmir valley and cloudy sky in Jammu division during the next 24 hours.

The weather was dry and cold during the last 24 hours in the Union Territory. However Srinagar and few other places in Kashmir received little snowfall.

“Partly cloudy sky in Jammu division and light rain/snow in the Valley is likely during the next 24 hours in J&K,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.

He said Srinagar recorded minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 4.3 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 7.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 7.9 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.8 degrees Celsius, Batote and Bhaderwah 1.4 degrees Celsius and Banihal 1.1 degrees Celsius as minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 12.7 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 11.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
