Anantnag: Mahila Shakti Kendra Anantnag in collobration with ICDS Anantnag, today celebrated Women’s Day with great enthusiasm at CDPO office Qazigund Anantnag.
The participants were informed regarding different laws and Acts in place for the protection of women’s rights. It was mentioned that the aim of conducting such awareness programmes is to ensure that Women are given equal status and respect in all fields.
On the event, children’s performed different cultural programmes to highlight the role of women in day to day life.
On the occasion, womens welfare officer Tabasum Shafi MSK Coordinator Nargis Ayoub cdpo qazigund fareeda akther briefed the participants about the basic women rights and discussed the importance of the day.She said that the day also aims to initiate more effective actions to safe guard the rights of women in the society. She said Government has launched various schemes including ‘BetiBechaoBetiPadhao’ to empower the women in the society. (KIMS)
