MeT forecasts evening showers in J&K, Good spell of rain on 8, 9 July

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Thursday forecast a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at some places in Jammu and Kashmir during late afternoon or evening.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, The weather will remain partly cloudy today in Jammu and Kashmir. However, a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm may occur at some places during late afternoon or evening.

He said, Light to moderate rain and thunderstorm  is expected at scattered places in the Union Territory on July 7, 2023 while intermittent light to moderate rain or shower is expected at many places of Jammu and Kashmir on July 8 and 9, 2023. Some places in plains of Jammu region may receive moderate to heavy rain during morning hours during this period.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 17.8°C, Anantnag 15.6°C, Qazigund 16.0°C, Kupwara and Kokernag each 15.6°C, Gulmarg 10.8°C and Pahalgam 12.8°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 24.5°C, Katra 22.5°C, Batote 17.2°C, Bhaderwah 17.0°C, Banihal 16.1°C, Udhampur 22.4°C and Patnitop 17.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 9.8°C and Kargil 16.1°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
