MeT forecasts rain, snow in J&K during next 24 hours

SRINAGAR — As the night temperature improves,  the Meteorological Department office on Sunday forecast rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

“Scattered to widespread light to moderate rain or snow is likely to occur in J&K during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.

He said Srinagar recorded minus 0.1 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 1.4 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 3.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature today.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 5.0 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.2 degrees Celsius, Batote 6.9 degrees Celsius, Banihal 3.4 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 4.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 9.5 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 8.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
