MHA appoints Atal Dulloo as new Chief Secretary, J&K

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India has appointed Mr. Atal Dulloo, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

Dulloo has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the Union Territory following the superannuation of Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta and will assume the charge from December 1, 2023.

Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir in May 2021, replacing BVR Subrahmanyam.

“Consequent upon superannuation of Sh. Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS (AGMUT:1988) on 30.11.2023 and on repatriation from Central Deputation, Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS (AGMUT: 1988) is hereby appointed as Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir w.e.f. 01.12.2023 or from date of assumption of charge, whichever is later and until further orders,” reads the order.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had repatriated, Mr. Atal Dulloo, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer to his parent cadre, Jammu and Kashmir over a week ago and was likely to be appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory. — (KIMS)
