Rain, snow from today evening in J&K; partly cloudy weather from Dec 1: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Wednesday forecast rain and snowfall at many places of Jammu and Kashmir from today evening.

“Currently, the weather is partly to generally cloudy at most places of Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and snowfall is expected at many places of the Union Territory towards evening,” an official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said.

“Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning is expected at many places while light snowfall is expected over middle and higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir on November 30th,” he said.

“The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in the Union Territory from December 1st to 2nd,” he said. “Similar weather conditions will prevail from December 4th to 8th,” he said.

“The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the Union Territory on December 3rd,” he said.

“Significant improvement in Minimum temperature by 1-3°C is expected till 1st December and thereafter fall by 2-4°C,” he said.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and Qazigund each recorded 0.8°C, Kupwara 1.3°C and Kokernag 2.6°C while Anantnag recorded minus 0.8°C, Pahalgam minus 1.5°C and Gulmarg minus 1.8°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Wednesday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 10.6°C, Katra 11.6°C, Batote 7.0°C, Bhaderwah 4.1°C, Banihal 3.6°C, Udhampur 6.6°C and Patnitop 6.8°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Kargil recorded minus 4.7°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
