SRINAGAR — Peer Tehleel Manzoor, a Cyber Security Researcher has said that the honeytrap victims in Kashmir are mostly young men from age group 18 to 30.
Tehleel said that these fraudsters mostly pretend to be women emotionally honeytrap male victims citing financial problems such as “they need money to pay rent or pay for treatment, etc and once victim sends money to these fraudsters, they never reply back to victims texts.
He said that these men and women target male victims either on social media or through dating apps. They first talk with victims to gain his trust then emotionally trap them citing financial problems.
He further said that there are many such cases in Kashmir where young men were targeted but mostly victims avoid reporting such cases to police. — (KIMS)
