NC Committed to Public Welfare: Imran Shah

Demands adequate supply to public

ANANTNAG (KIMS) — Urging the government to address the long-pending public demand for the Anchidoora-Anzullah road to alleviate public suffering and ensure better connectivity, Senior NC leader Imran Amin Shah reiterated that the National Conference (NC) is dedicated to public welfare.

He stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have consistently reposed their faith in the party’s performance under the visionary leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah Saheb.

Shah was speaking at a workers’ meeting held at Dawood Check, Anchidora, Anantnag, which saw a large gathering of party workers and supporters.

Expressing concern over frequent power curtailments, Shah criticized the insensitivity of the Power Development Department (PDD) for imposing exorbitant tariff bills on consumers without ensuring adequate and regular power supply.

He demanded amnesty on power bills, emphasizing that the area comprises mostly labor-class residents, and the high tariffs must be reduced, keeping their financial constraints in mind.

Additionally, Shah urged the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to ensure proper water supply during the intense cold wave, so that people do not face further hardships. — (KIMS)
