Partly to generally cloudy weather in J&K till December 5: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Friday forecast partly to generally cloudy weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till December 5th.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “Currently, the weather is mainly clear to partly cloudy at most places of Jammu and Kashmir. The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy today.”

He said, “Mainly dry with partly to generally cloudy weather is expected in the Union Territory on November 25th and 26th.”

He said, “Generally cloudy weather is expected in the Union Territory from November 27th to 28th.” “Similar weather conditions will prevail from November 29th to 30th with light rain and snowfall at isolated higher reaches of the Union Territory,” he said.

He said, “Slight improvement in minimum temperature is observed over many stations of Kashmir division. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to continue till November 28th over many places of the region.”

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 0.9°C, Kupwara 1.2°C, Kokernag 1.7°C while Anantnag recorded minus 0.4°C, Qazigund minus 0.2°C, Pahalgam minus 3.3°C and Gulmarg minus 2.0°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 11.5°C, Katra 10.1°C, Batote 5.1°C, Bhaderwah 2.8°C and Banihal 3.4°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 5.0°C and Kargil minus 2.4°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
