Photojournalist arrested with 12 grams of contraband Brown Sugar in North Kashmir

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — A Photojournalist has been arrested with 12 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substances at Kanispora area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir, Police said on Thursday.

Police in a statement said, Police under the supervision of Sh Sajjad Bukhari-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by PSI Rayees Ahmad, IC PP Delina arrested a Photojournalist namely Inayat Qayoom Baidar, R/o Khawajabagh Baramulla during naka checking at Kanispora who was coming from Baramulla towards Delina on Motorcycle bearing registration number JK05J-2513 and upon seeing the naka party he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.

The statement said, During his personal search 12 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substances was recovered from his possession.

He was taken into custody immediately and the Motorcycle was also seized at spot, the statement said.

A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations are set in motion, the statement said. — (KIMS)
