SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Wednesday attached a three-storeyed residential house along with one kanal of land, valued at around Rs 2 crore in the Shaltang area of Srinagar under the NDPS Act as part of its action against the drug menace.
Police said the property is in the possession of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohd Bhat of Shaltang, the father of notorious drug peddler Manzoor Ahmad Bhat of Shaltang, who is involved in FIR No. 98/2025 under sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Parimpora.
During investigation, it was found that the property had been acquired from proceeds of drug trafficking. Acting on the findings, the competent authority ordered its attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The attachment was executed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses. As per the order, the owner has been prohibited from selling, leasing, modifying or creating any third-party interest in the property.
Srinagar Police said it remains committed to dismantling drug networks and taking strict action against those involved in the drug trade. — (KIMS)
