Police attach Rs 3.5 crore worth assets under NDPS Act in Srinagar

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Saturday said they have attached immovable properties worth ₹3.5 crore belonging to alleged drug traffickers in Srinagar district as part of an intensified crackdown under the anti-narcotics campaign Nasha Mukth Abhiyan Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said the action was taken by Police Station Sangam under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in connection with FIR No. 56/2025 registered under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act.

According to police, two immovable properties identified as proceeds of drug trafficking were attached.

The properties include a double-storey residential house along with one kanal of land belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Ganie, son of Abdul Satar Ganie, resident of Kreshbal, Noorbagh Srinagar, valued at over ₹2 crore.

Another double-storey residential house along with one kanal of land belonging to Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rehman Mir, resident of Kreshbal, Noorbagh Srinagar, valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore, was also attached.

Police said the properties were found to be illegally acquired through proceeds of narcotics trafficking.

Police said such stringent measures are aimed at dismantling drug networks by targeting assets generated through illegal activities.

Police urged the public to cooperate and share information related to drug trafficking to help build a drug-free society, reiterating their commitment to continuing action against narcotics networks. — (KIMS)
