Police files chargesheets against five persons over militancy support in Doda

DODA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed chargesheets against five persons alleged to be supporting militant groups in Doda district by giving them food and other logistic things.

The chargesheets were filed in two separate cases filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in an National Investigation Agency court in Doda.

Giving details SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta said that all these accused persons have covertly or overtly supported the militant groups in Doda district by providing them food and other logistic things.

The first case, registered under FIR No. 70/2024 at Gandoh Police Station, involves one accused namely namely Shoket Ali S/o Ghulam Ali R/o Sharakhi (Katyara) Tehsil Bhaderwah District Doda. He has been charged under 19 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 whereas against three killed foreign terrorists offences under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 307/120-B/121/122/ IPC as well as Sections 7 and 27 of the Arms Act and several provisions of the UAPA has been established.

In the second case, registered under FIR No. 14/2024 at Police Station Dessa, the chargesheet names four individuals. The accused include Muneer Hussain S/o Ghulam Hussain R/o Malwas A/P Dabra Pranoo Tehsil & District Doda, Tanveer Ahmed S/o Abdul Samad R/o Nilsoo Kulhand Tehsil & District Doda, Noor Alam S/o Sayad Walie R/o Baggar Tehsil Assar District Doda and Kunj Lal S/o Tarloku R/o Herani Assar Tehsil Assar District Doda.

The police reiterated their commitment in addressing both active militancy and the networks of support that sustain such activities. This action forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle the logistical and financial systems enabling terrorism in the region. — (KIMS)
