PULWAMA — Police in Pulwama have launched a formal investigation following a distressing incident involving a woman from Kakapora, who was allegedly forced to consume a poisonous substance by her husband.
According to the victim’s statement recorded earlier today, the incident took place after her husband served her a divorce notice a few days ago. The woman was immediately provided with medical assistance and her statement has become central to the ongoing investigation.
In addition to the victim’s account, a written application was also received today from her brother, Mudasir Ahmad Pinchu, a resident of Khanabal, Anantnag (currently residing in Batengo), naming the individuals, including Manzoor Ahmad Fashu, son of Ghulam Mohammad Fashu, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar Son In Law of Gh Mohd Fashu and Nawaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahem Dar, all residents of Kakapora, as responsible for the incident.
Based on this information, Police have taken cognizance and registered a case vide FIR No. 32/2024 under relevant sections of law. The investigation has been set in motion, although no arrests have been made as of yet.
