JAMMU (KIMS) — The Emergency Service Unit (ESU) of the SP Rural Office, Jammu, has recovered 51 missing mobile phones reported lost at various police stations and posts across the rural zone of Jammu.
“Missing reports of these mobile phones were lodged by people in different police stations and police posts of the rural zone. As these reports reached the ESU unit through concerned SHOs and In-Charge Police Posts, the team was assigned the task of tracing them,” police said in a statement.
“Under the close guidance and supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma, the ESU team successfully recovered 51 mobile phones from different districts across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. With sincere efforts, our team traced these phones, ensuring they were returned to their rightful owners,” the statement said.
“The estimated value of the recovered devices is approximately ₹10–10.5 lakh. With this recovery, multiple missing phone reports have been closed,” the statement added.
Recipients of the recovered mobile phones expressed their gratitude to the Jammu Police for their efforts.
“A particularly emotional moment unfolded when a mother received the phone of her late daughter, bringing tears to her eyes and deeply moving everyone present at the press conference,” the statement ends. — (KIMS)
