Police solves theft case within hours in Pulwama; four arrested

PULWAMA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday achieved a swift breakthrough in a theft case by recovering stolen cash, ornaments and important documents within hours of the incident and apprehending the accused involved in Pulwama.

Police Station Litter registered FIR No. 87/2026 under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint lodged by Gulshan Akhter W/o Bashir Ahmad Wani R/o Muran, Pulwama, who reported that her cash and other valuables had been stolen while travelling in a Tavera vehicle from Pulwama to Naina Batapora.

Acting promptly on the complaint, Police Station Litter launched a swift investigation and conducted a targeted police operation at Naina Batapora, leading to the recovery of the stolen property, which included cash amounting to ₹10,160, two rings, one copper kadda, one ATM card and one PAN card.

During the operation, the recovered property was seized from the possession of four accused, namely Firdous Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh. Nabi Sheikh R/o Palpora, Parimpora, Srinagar; Sikander Ahmad Sheikh S/o Fojdar Sheikh R/o Noorbagh, Srinagar; Tanveera W/o Sikander Ahmad Sheikh; and Fatima W/o Firdous Ahmad Sheikh. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
