Poonch civilian deaths: Legal action initiated; compensation, jobs to kin of deceased announced, says Govt

JAMMU (KIMS) — The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday said that the legal action has been initiated by the appropriate authority into the death of three civilians in Poonch district.

The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, in a post on X said, “The medico legal formalities were conducted and legal action in this matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority.”

The Government has also announced compensation and compassionate appointments to the families of the deceased.

“Government has announced compensation for each of the deceased. Further Government has also announced compassionate appointments to the next of kin of each deceased,” the post said.

Three civilians identified as Safeer Hussain, Mohd Showket and Shabir Ahmad of Topa Peer village of Bufliaz were found dead under mysterious circumstances near the encounter site in the district. — (KIMS)
