Rain, snow in J&K today; dry weather from tomorrow: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Friday forecast rain and snowfall in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir today.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “There will be widespread rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir today.”

“There will be gradual decrease in precipitation from late afternoon onwards,” he said.

“Mainly dry weather with warmer days is expected in the Union Territory from November 11th to 17th,” he said.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 6.3°C, Anantnag 4.8°C, Qazigund 5.0°C, Kupwara 4.2°C, Kokernag 6.2°C, Pahalgam 4.7°C and Gulmarg minus 1.5°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 13.8°C, Katra 11.5°C, Batote 6.6°C, Bhaderwah 7.8°C and Banihal 6.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 2.2°C and Kargil 0.1°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
