Rain, thunder at few places in J&K from today late afternoon: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Sunday forecast partly cloudy weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

The weather was partly cloudy in the Union Territory during last 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, “The weather will remain partly cloudy in Jammu and Kashmir today.” “There is possibility of light rain, thunder at few places in Jammu and Kashmir towards late afternoon or evening,” he said.

“Fairly widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few palces in Jammu and Kashmir from May 29-31, 2023,“ he said.

“Generally cloudy with intermittent light rain, thunder is expected at few palces in Jammu and Kashmir from June 1-5, 2023, he said.

He also advised farmers to suspend all farm operations during May 29-31, 2023.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 8.9°C, Qazigund 6.6°C, Anantnag 6.4°C, Kupwara 7.4°C, Kokernag 7.5°C, Gulmarg 3.4°C and Pahalgam 2.6°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Sunday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 19.2°C, Katra N/A, Batote 12.0°C, Bhaderwah 8.3°C, Banihal 9.1°C, Udhampur 15.4°C and Patnitop 11.8°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 0.6°C and Kargil 4.7°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
