Terror associate arrested in Kulgam; grenades recovered: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said they have arrested an alleged terror associate in Kulgam district and recovered explosive substance and incriminating material from his possession.

According to a police statement, the arrest was made during a joint operation conducted by Kulgam Police, Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF’s 18 Battalion at Mohammadpora area of Kulgam.

Police said the joint team intercepted a suspicious person during the operation and recovered two hand grenades and incriminating posters from his possession during personal search.

The accused was identified as Aadil Hussain Lone, son of Mohammad Sadiq Lone, resident of Mohammadpora Kulgam.

Police said the accused was arrested on the spot and a case under FIR No. 88/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam.

Further investigation into the case is underway and more arrests and recoveries are expected, the statement said. — (KIMS)
